The agency has employed a multi-sectorial program approach that foster holistic interventions and care for children, their caregivers and the communities in which they live. This is especially so that the growing needs of the children cannot be adequately addressed by any single intervention.
In order to improve the health of children, youth and their caregivers, the agency has implemented projects aimed at management and control of malaria, infant, new born and child health, family planning, reproductive health services and education as well as HIV and AIDS. Other projects include livelihood, water and sanitation, infrastructure development as well as the printing and distribution of IEC materials.
The agency has implemented Early Childhood Development Education (ECDE) and infrastructure development projects that include the construction of maternity wards, rehabilitation of classrooms, teacher’s houses, ventilated improved latrines and rehabilitation of boreholes.
The agency has improved the quality of life for children and youth by implementing livelihood activities that have empowered youth, women and caregivers with entrepreneurship skills, providing start-up capital, creating linkages to financial lending institutions and providers of agricultural services; motivational talks and mentorship, pig production and goat rearing, gardening and crop production, poultry production and catering
