ABOUT CHONGWE CHILD DEVELOPMENT AGENCY

Transforming Lives with Chongwe Child Development Agency

Chongwe Child Development Agency  (CCDA) is a nonprofit, non-sectarian organization dedicated to the survival, protection, and wellbeing of children and youth in seven communities across Chongwe and Rufunsa districts: Mutamino, Chainda, Kapete, Chitemalesa, Chimusanya, Rufunsa, and Mpanshya. Since 2010, CCDA has worked to ensure that every child—especially the most vulnerable—grows up in a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.

Our Story

Established in 2010 as a federation of seven community associations, CCDA was created in response to the growing needs of Deprived, Excluded, and Vulnerable (DEV) children, youth, and caregivers. From the beginning, the agency’s focus has been to build an environment of hope, respect, and opportunity where disadvantaged children and youth can realize their full potential.

Our Approach

To promote sustainability and strengthen community ownership, CCDA invests in building the capacity of boards, youth groups, and children through targeted training and mentorship. We believe that the best outcomes for children are achieved when local leadership is empowered to guide programs that align with cultural norms, values, and community priorities.

Our interventions focus on uplifting deprived, excluded, and vulnerable individuals by equipping them to become responsible young adults, parents, and community leaders. Through this, CCDA fosters communities that value, protect, and uphold the rights and dignity of every child.
